At the Fair

Yesterday we took the boys to the county fair. Can we just say that fairs ain't as cheap as they used to be! Boys Howdy! You can drop a lot of coinage at those things! But, we promised Graham he could go and it is a nice, clean fair so, as long as the kids have fun it's worth it...right? ;) I did enjoy watching the logging show and talking with a couple of local bee farmers in the agricultural barn. I asked them how the plight of the honeybee's is fairing and unfortunately it is not good. Come to find out, one of the bee keepers was a Christian and he believes that the only thing that will bring the bee population back to what it was is prayer. He said that he prays over his hives everyday. I truly enjoyed speaking with him. Here is a little info on the plight of the honeybees if 'yer interested.

Also, while at the fair, we spotted a rock wall climb. For $10 you got one try to get to the top and win $100! I was totally sure Heath could do it. He climbed Smith Rock for pete's sake! Well, he got about half way up and then...he fell! My manly-can-tackle-anything-the-outdoor's-throws-at-me man fell and lost us ten bucks! Here is a picture of the epic fail:



Oh well, he gave it his best shot. Plus, he looked cute up there :) Anyhoo, after the fair, we came home, spiffed up the place a bit and waited for the Wilson's to arrive all the way from Delmar, Maryland. That is quite a trip! They got in around 7ish, we bbq-ed, the kids played and today we are off for the mountains. I am soooo glad they are here. With some friends, once you see them it is as if you were never apart. They are definitely those kind of friends. Hope everyone out there is having a spiffy weekend!
